ABOUT:
A commissioned artist, Karaghen Hudson is an Artist-In-Residence for the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences' and Wyss Institute's Disease Biophysics Group under Professor Kevin Kit Parker. Combined with her intellectual curiosity, she strives to directly cross the conventional line between scientific research and visual art by creating illustrations sparked from bio-inspired engineering and nature.
She began to draw at an early age, creating images of people by the time she was 18 months old. However, her first formal year of art training began in 2011 during her sophomore year of high school, moving up to her school's most advanced art class her junior and senior year.
During the summer of 2012, she took a month-long study abroad in Florence, Italy, in order to do an intensive study of drawing, painting, and photography taught by college professors at Centro Fiorenza.
